Gustav Poeltner has been working at Institut – Miller – Contactlinsen in Innsbruck, Austria since 1986, with a focus on fitting specialty contact lenses. Also since 1986, he has been a lecturer for refraction and contact lens education in theory and practice at PHTL-Kolleg-Optometrie in Hall in  Tirol, Austria. From 2008 to 2020 he held the  position of lecturer in contact lens optics at the University of Applied Sciences of Velika Gorica, Croatia. Gustav Pöltner has been a generally sworn and court-certified expert since 2002 as well as a professional expert and examiner for engineer certification of the Austrian Economic Chamber WKO-Tirol since 2017. From 2004 to 2020 he was Convener on the Board of Examiners of ECOO European Diploma, Contact Lenses Module and has been a member of the Accreditation and Qualifications Board of the ECOO - European Diploma in Optometry since 2020. From October 2021 he will be in charge of the ophthalmic optics degree program at FH-Gesundheit/Tirol.genoptik.
