Jan Skerswetat is a postdoctoral researcher with a background in Optometry and works in the area of vision science in Prof. Peter Bex’ lab at the Northeastern University, MA, USA. His research concerns binocular vision in general, with a focus on rivalry research, and oculo-motoric science in various typical and atypical ophthalmological (e.g. amblyopia, strabismus) and neurological (e.g. autism) groups. Moreover, he is the co-founder of the company PerZeption, which translates visual function tests developed in the lab into clinical applications. Skerswetat has working experience as researcher and lecturer in Germany, United Kingdom and the USA.


Jan Skerswetat is a member of various national and international associations: Optometry register, DEU; Applied Vision Association (AVA), GBR; Vision Science Society (VSS), USA; Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), USA and Higher Education Academey, GBR. He is a reviewer for the following international journals: PLOS ONE and Frontiers in Psychology.
