Wolfgang Jaschinski

Wolfgang Jaschinski is a research associate at the Leibniz Institute for Work Research at the Technical University of Dortmund (IfADo). Until 2017, he was Senior Scientist for "Individual Visual Performance" and "Visual Ergonomics" at IfADo. From 1970-1976 he completed his studies in electrical engineering at the Ruhr University in Bochum. Subsequently, Wolfgang Jaschinski worked as a research assistant at the Biological Institute of the University of Stuttgart from 1978-1980 and moved to the IfADo as a research assistant in 1980. Wolfgang Jaschinski completed his doctorate in 1988 at the Institute for Labour Science at the Technical University of Darmstadt under the Lecturer Walter Rohmert.

Since 1977 Wolfgang Jaschinski has regularly published a large number of papers. His main research interests include binocular vision as well as optometry and ergonomics. He investigated individual aspects of binocular vision with regard to possible applications in workplace design and vision testing in occupational medicine, ophthalmology and optometry. Current topics include static and dynamic properties of binocular coordination: objective and subjective measurement of various vergence functions, objective measurements of static and dynamic accommodation, and visual and cognitive influences in manual interaction with visual displays.
