Children also need regular check-ups

Children do not usually complain about poor vision because they do not consciously notice that they experience the environment differently. For them, this is the normal visual impression, because they have never been able to learn to see better. In addition, they can compensate very well for their visual impairment. This is why impaired vision is often difficult for parents and educators to recognise, especially since problems are not always directly associated with vision. Impaired vision can lead, among other things, to restlessness and poor concentration during close-up activities such as painting, doing puzzles and reading. The child finds it difficult to maintain concentration over an age-appropriate period of time. Letters and numbers are twisted and/or not written straight on the line. Cutting out with scissors is difficult. But even before school, there are certain behaviours that can be interpreted as indications of vision problems: For example, a child often runs into corners and bumps into edges, even stumbles a lot or grabs past more often. It is possible that a child behaves extraordinarily shyly, reacts more to calls and does not like to run around. Sitting at the table, the "fidget" is not relaxed and even bored because the child simply has nothing to look at. All of these can be signs of disturbed visual perception, for which an examination of the vision by a specialist is advisable. At City Blick, patience and thoroughness are a given in every examination and check of the eyes and contact lenses. Whatever affects vision - the extensive range of products covers the need for correction or healing at any age of life. The Association of German Contact Lens Specialists and Optometrists (VDCO) e.V. represents the interests of responsible optometrists and contact lens specialists towards patients, teaching institutions and manufacturers of contact lenses, contact lens care products and technologies. The members of the VDCO guarantee the highest possible quality in the provision and care of the visual system. The VDCO is politically independent, professionally neutral and networks across countries.
